Umpheme undertakes housing development projects on a turnkey basis, taking responsibility for the delivery of such projects from their inception to completion.

Project Management

Umpheme assumes the management of projects from their inception to completion with particular focus on government grant housing, affordable housing and middle-income housing. One of Umpheme’s greatest strengths is the knowledge we possess on housing policies paired with a capacity to guide and secure the support of beneficiary communities.

Subsidy Administration for Government Grant Housing

This involves the processing of beneficiary applications at a community level, the compilation and submission thereof for government approval, and processing of the data up to and including the registration of the project in the deeds office.

Sales Administration for Affordable and Middle-Income Housing

Umpheme takes responsibility for planning and implementing project launches, securing approval of projects by financial institutions, as well as sales and property transfers.

Community Social Facilitation

Umpheme carries out facilitation activities such as consumer protection and education, information sharing and capacity building of all key players in the sector.

Project Feasibility Studies

Umpheme assesses the feasibility and viability of projects before commencement.

Construction

Umpheme carries out the design and construction of subsidised housing projects, commercial construction projects as well as infrastructure development. Umpheme is a NHBRC registered company committed to sound construction practices.

The responsibilities carried out by the company, in terms of subsidised housing, include the management and implementation of various construction activities from labour only contracts and materials supply management, to the construction of houses at a high production rate. The responsibilities involved with commercial construction focus mainly on bonded housing projects and commercial buildings such as shopping centres, schools, and other public entities.
